PSCA offers instruction for all ages in a variety of the arts. Private instruction in voice and several instruments, as well as group lessons in dance, sign language, handbells, and drumming (for kids and teens) are available for children, students, and adults.
PSCA also offers classes in a Christian environment in drumming, writing, choir, sign language, and handbells for home school students.

- Most lesson fees begin at $15.00 per 1/2 hour (depending on instructor).
- All lessons are taught at the Peoples Church campus.

Group Lessons
Adventures in Drumming
These fun and energetic groups begin a new session every 7 weeks. (For classes Homeschool specific classes please see the tab below marked Homeschool Classes)
Beginning Classes: Learn time keeping, conga playing, and drum set playing.
Intermediate and Advanced Classes: Learn songs like We Got The Beat plays. Learn a new song and how to drum for it, every 7 weeks.
Cost: $130.00 per 7-week session (50 minutes per week). New class sessions begin every August, October, January, and March.

Class tuition for all classes is $35.00 per month of instruction. Please make checks out to the teacher of the class. The first ten paid tuitions will be registered for that class.
PSCA Handbell Classes
Beginning and intermediate handbell classes are offered for home schoolers – see under PSCA Home School classes.
TOUCH OF BRONZE is PSCA’s advanced ensemble for ringers with some handbell experience or good music-reading skills, ages high school through adult. Ministry in our community is our purpose so faithful attendance at rehearsals and performances IS REQUIRED. Class meets Mondays at 7:00 – 8:40 p.m. Fall semester runs mid-Sept. to mid-Dec.; Spring semester runs mid-Jan. to mid-April. Performances include the PSCA concerts and 3-4 others, and are usually scheduled on our rehearsal evenings or weekends near the end of the semester. Tuition is $80 per semester. Audition/interview required. Deadline to register is 3 weeks prior to first class (to allow for music selection and preparation). Contact Patti for exact dates and details.
Director, Patti Cota is a credentialed music teacher with a BA from Bethany Bible College, Santa Cruz and a Master of Music Education from CSUF. She has taught handbells since 1980 and has taught instrumental and choral music in public and private schools, has accompanied (on piano) school and church choirs, and is a published arranger of handbell and choral music.

Adventures in Drumming
Beginning Drumming: Classes designed to help you understand:

Brenda Myers, Director of We Got the Beat Youth Percussion Band, has 18 years of experience teaching percussion in the Fresno and Clovis school districts. She has played drums and percussion professionally for over 30 years and has played for: churches, symphonies, theatre, jazz, pop, rock and recordings. She holds a BA in Percussion Performance from CSU Fresno, and a Masters of West African/Caribbean Music And Culture from Fresno Pacific University.
Join the fun of banging on a drum for an hour! (Bring an empty soda can or empty aspirin-type plastic bottle to the first class. Please rinse and dry the can.)
Classes include a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 15 students. Classes are held in the Peoples Church Orchestra Room.

Choirs
Enhance your child’s home school experience by extending his or her music education in a Christian environment. Sign Language Class
Have you ever wanted to learn Sign Language, but didn’t know where to start? Signing to music is a fun and exciting way to express yourself in worship. It is also an effective way for beginning signers to learn. Join us for an introduction to signing with worship music. We will learn songs such as: “Lord, I Lift Your Name on High,” “Mighty to Save,” “God You Reign,” and “Revelation Song.” This class is designed for beginning and advanced signers, men women and children. Let us share our love of worship through signing with you!

Handbells Classes
Handbell ringing is fun, beautiful, challenging and the ultimate in musical teamwork. Beginning and intermediate classes offered fall/spring semesters for ages 8 to adult. Pre-registration required.
Beg. Class – Tues. 10:30 to 11:25 a.m. NO experience necessary. Learn basic handbell techniques and music reading skills. Perform at the fall/spring PSCA Choirs concert.
Int. Class – Tues. 11:50 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Continue with more advanced handbell techniques and music; 2-3 performances per semester.
Cost for the semester is $80, plus small outfit rental fee if you don’t already have outfit for choir. Class size limited – don’t wait to register! Registration forms available at Peopleschurch.org under PSCA Home School classes. Completed forms due NO LATER than one week before first class which usually starts mid-August. A $20 non-refundable deposit is due with form, and remainder of tuition is due at the first class. Deposit will be returned if we don’t have enough to offer a class.
